"This is one of the best interactive theatre productions I have ever seen. She has real talent for weaving humor into her show and for adjusting her story to the often unpredictable behaviors of her audience."

The Colonial Faire

Colonial icon HIRES

Pennsylvania - 1730's

The Colonial Faire is a really fun program based on the life of an indentured servant.  The show depicts the arduous life of early America as well as the revelry.  Though days of rest and merriment are few, today is the day of the Colonial Faire.  With the excitement of the faire on everyone's mind, villagefolk eagerly apply themselves to their work in order to enjoy the day.  Beginning with a list of chores already performed, servant Katie Cotswold invites the assistance of those around her to gather the dye for the wool, prepare the wool to be dyed (including carding) and make deliveries.  On her travels she encounters various townsfolk including French trapper - Jean Claude Guillaume, tavern-keep, Mistress Reinhardt and the Barnaby boys.  Finally, she is off to the village square to partake in the Faire.  A variety of colonial games are played by the folks from the village (students).  The day concludes with a rollicking and coloful Maypole dance.

Katie Cotswold - is a fictitious colonial woman.  As this is a day of merry-making, she wears her best yet simple colonial dress and servant's hat with an apron and black shoes.

"Kitty has been visiting our school for approximately fifteen years, sharing her interactive educational performances with our students in seventh and eighth grade. Her shows are filled with relevant historical information, and humor that engages students and teachers alike. We look forward to her shows each year and highly recommend Kit's Interactive Theatre.

"I would wholeheartedly recommend Kit's Interactive Theatre to any school that values a hands-on, engaging experience for their students. From the moment she speaks, Kitty commands the interest of the students. They are having so much fun, they don't even realize they are learning wonderful facts about our nation's history. We do many events like this at our school and Kit continues to be the most useful and engaging show we could bring to our students!"

"Kit's Interactive Theatre is a highly engaging and educationally significant show for students. Kit has been performing her Journey of an Irish Immigrant show for our 2nd grade classes for over 12 years. A true testament to her valuable and informative program is when our graduating seniors joined the audience for Kit's performance this year. Those seniors could recall, with great detail, just how meaningful Kit's program was to them when they were 2nd graders. If one program can make that much of an impact on young minds, then you've achieved something remarkable."

"We loved having you here and expect to bring you back...all ages present were clearly enjoying themselves from the moment you made your first appearance to the very end."

"The show was great - fun for the whole family. The perfect tie in to our Colonial America collection"

"It was truly enjoyable to watch the enraptured children and adults...we've received many great comments about your performance."
